The old stove was never level, so when we got a new stove top for the house for the holidays, houses gets presents too, we wanted to fix that as well.
But when you start messing with one thing, in an 100+ year old house, one thing effects the other, and the next, and then all of a sudden, you have to replace the whole kitchen just changing a stove top.
So I came up with this solution to the issue that the bench top was convex and leaning, and at the same time get around the limitation of the new stove top not allowing for silicone attachment.

I got this wood from a friend a while back, when he was cleaning out a barn, I don’t know what it is, but it blended nice with bench top, in my opinion. I cut some strips on the table saw, then there was a lot of measuring, plaining and sanding to get it level and nice but I am happy with the result.
